Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

General

What makes Pogona Insurance different from standard insurance providers?

Pogona Insurance was built by industry professionals who understand the unique risks, challenges, and demands of motorsport and high-value asset ownership. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, we work closely with clients to provide specialized advice, tailored coverage, and direct access to a global network of insurers and experts. Our combination of real-world experience, personalized service, and international reach allows us to deliver protection that goes beyond what traditional insurance providers typically offer.

How do I file a claim, and how fast is the process?

Filing a claim is simple. For Personal Accident claims, contact our assistance partner Healix using the dedicated 24/7 emergency number provided in your policy documents. Healix will guide you through the process, coordinate any required support, and work directly with the insurer to manage your claim while keeping us informed so we can assist where needed.

For On Track claims, simply submit your claim through the client portal at pogonainsurance.com. Our team will review your submission and guide you through the next steps.

We aim to handle claims as efficiently as possible. While straightforward claims may be resolved quickly, payments are typically processed within a minimum of eight business days, depending on the complexity of the claim and insurer processing times.

Legal

Are Pogona Insurance policies recognized internationally?

Yes. Pogona Insurance works with internationally recognized insurers and underwriting partners, allowing us to provide coverage for clients, events, and activities worldwide. The exact territorial scope depends on the policy; however, many of our solutions are designed to protect drivers, teams, and businesses operating across multiple countries and jurisdictions.

Racing

How are asset valuations legally determined in the event of a total loss?

In the event of a total loss, the value of a racing vehicle is determined based on the agreed valuation or the insured value stated in the policy, subject to the policy’s terms and conditions. To ensure a fair and accurate settlement, insurers may also consider supporting documentation such as purchase invoices, build costs, maintenance records, independent valuations, and the vehicle’s competition history.

Does my standard car insurance cover track days or competitive racing?

In most cases, no. Standard car insurance policies typically exclude coverage for track days, racing events, timed competitions, and other motorsport-related activities. If you participate in track days or competitive racing, it is important to have specialist motorsport insurance in place to ensure you are properly protected both on and off the track.

What does Racing Liability insurance cover?

Racing liability insurance is designed to protect drivers, teams, organizers, and other motorsport participants against claims arising from bodily injury or property damage caused to third parties during insured motorsport activities. Coverage may include legal defense costs, compensation payments, and other liabilities resulting from incidents that occur during racing events, testing sessions, or related operations, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

What is covered for personal injury during a motorsport event?

Coverage for personal injury depends on the type of policy and the level of protection selected. Motorsport personal accident insurance can provide financial support in the event of accidental injury, temporary or permanent disability, medical expenses, loss of income, or accidental death resulting from participation in an insured motorsport activity. Coverage limits, exclusions, and benefits vary by policy, so it is important to review the specific terms of your insurance.

Is my race car and equipment covered during transit?

Yes, coverage can be arranged for race cars, spare parts, tools, and equipment while they are being transported to and from events, testing sessions, or storage locations. The scope of coverage depends on the policy and may include protection against accidental damage, theft, fire, and loss during transit, whether transported by road, sea, or air.

Legacy

How do you handle the fluctuating value of luxury assets and collectibles?

We understand that the value of luxury assets and collectibles can change over time due to market demand, rarity, provenance, and condition. Depending on the asset, coverage can be based on an agreed value, a recent professional appraisal, or regular valuation reviews to help ensure your collection remains adequately protected and accurately insured.

Is my Legacy collection protected when traveling or on display

Yes, coverage can be arranged for collectibles, jewellery, artworks, and other valuable assets while they are in transit or temporarily on display. Depending on the policy, protection may include accidental damage, theft, loss, and other insured risks, ensuring your collection remains protected wherever it is showcased or transported.
